






the current exhibition “hausbesetzung” is the legal occupation of the becoming free space after canceling an intended albrecht dürer exhibition. artists and acteurs of the art establishments in erfurt followed a call of the new director, prof. schierz, of the artmuseums, the angermuseum as well. the benefited show of contemporary art could be understood as the way of protest against more withdraw of cultural funds.


street art? not at all! this is just a sealed cover of a gully at domplatz in preparation to the pope visit of erfurt in the end of september.





temporary street art project closed. over five weekends were different graffiti on foil viewable in front of the new opera. on the last two sundays i was waiting for new one without result.


in memory of the 50th anniversary of gagarins flight into outer space i will remember his visit of erfurt in october 1963. a part of the inner ring road of erfurt was renamed in juri-gagarin-ring in 1964.


in preparation for the ninth international ceramic symposium römhild the gallery krönbacken shows a retrospective of the last eight symposia. the list of participating ceramists is like reading the who is who of east german ceramics. open until the 3rd april 2011. enjoy some gallery shots.

today the anger, the main shopping street of erfurt, has lost its tree grids (and the trees of course). during the comprehensive reconstuction of the anger in 1977 the grids were a part of the urban space design by lothar krone. this tree grids are the one and only example of erfurt in the the standard book on ddr design “gestalten für die serie”.



the reichenbach porcelain manufactory exhibition has open as part of the exhibition series who celebrates 250 years of porcelain manufacturing in thuringia. it shows the whole history of working with examples of all time phases and the current product line. it will be open at the volkskundemuseum erfurt until the 25th april 2011.

the exhibition shows also the rare complete mocca-set ‹fatima› designed by hildegund sell in 1962, decoration by fritz pollak.
