astrid löffler – cup and saucer | lettin | c. 1964

the shape of the set was developed by astrid löffler during her time as assistant at the burg giebichenstein. a version with perforated foot is documented in the standard-book “kunsthandwerk in der ddr”. the set was produced shortly with several decorations, but with no influence of astrid löffler. [gilded porcelain, h. 10cm]

astrid löffler – ensemble of vases | wallendorf | c. 1970

during the sixties the most avantgardist eastgerman porcelain producer was the wallendorf porzellanfabrik. this was reflected in a great exhibition at the gallery moritzburg halle in 1966. the second show of this exhibition four years later at the state museum schwerin contains some new works, including this shape designed by astrid löffler. to my surprise i found this vase in a bag at the door of my flat around christmas. so i could complete my ensemble of vases. thank you andreas! [white porcelain, h. 8,7-14cm]
