alfred thiele – ‹hartebeest› | wallendorf | 1958

the master sculptor alfred thiele (1886-1957) was in close touch to the zoological garden leipzig. his accurate study of the physique and the movement of the animals made him a specialist in sculpturing animals. after 1958 many of his bronces were moulded in porcelain by the wallendorf porzellanfabrik. the nice hartebeest is very typical for his work. [matte white porcelain, w. 20cm]
